One of the most popular methods for finding lucky lottery numbers is to choose your lottery lucky number by date of birth, and it’s no surprise - birth dates are considered to be lucky numbers by numerology and many ancient traditions.
The method is straight-forward: simply use your birthdate as your lottery entry numbers! For example, if your birthday is 14 March 1967, your lucky numbers would be 14, 3, and 67. In this strategy you only use the last two digits of your birth year.
How to Find Lucky Lottery Numbers for US Powerball or Mega Millions
American lotteries, US Powerball and Mega Millions, both allow you to pick six numbers in total, so you’ll need to extend the strategy to get six lucky lotto numbers. Powerball allows you to select 5 numbers from 1 to 69 plus a bonus Powerball number from 1 to 26, and Mega Millions lets you choose 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and a bonus Mega Ball number from 1 to 25.
Born after the year 1969? You won’t be able to use the last two digits of your birth year as a lucky lottery number, so you’ll need to create a new one. You can do this by simply adding all of the digits of your birth year together to create a new number! For example, if your birth year is 1992, you can add 1 + 9 + 9 + 2 together to create a new number: 21.
Let’s look at a creative strategy using a person born on 28 July, 1994.
In this example, because we cannot use 94, we will add 1 + 9 + 9 + 4 together to create 23. We now already have our first three lucky lottery numbers: 28, 9, and 23, but we still need three more numbers for a Powerball or Mega Millions lottery entry.
One thing we can do is add the day to the month to create another number. In this example, we will add 28 + 7 and get a new number: 35. We can also use the first two digits from the birth year: 19. We now have five numbers in total to place on our entry: 28, 7, 19, 23, 35.
How to Find Your Lucky Bonus Ball Number
To determine the sixth lucky number, for the bonus Powerball or Mega Ball, we can use a simple formula to calculate a single lucky number from your birth date. Let’s continue with our example of the birthdate of 28 July, 1994:
Firstly, add the day (28), the month, (7), and the year (1994):
28 + 7 + 1994 = 2029.
We’ll then add each of the single digits together to create a new number: 2 + 0 + 2 + 9 = 13.
And there we have it: 13 is our final lottery lucky number by date of birth and bonus ball number for the US Powerball or Mega Millions lottery jackpot draws!
In our example, our final 6 lucky lottery numbers are:
28, 7, 19, 23, 35, with a bonus ball number of 13.
